Meet the team

Eve L.
Co-founder
Eve is the OG member of the team back when the team was just one. She was working at a bike shop in Stoke newington, it was eating her alive each day. Working in a hostile environment in a male-dominated world was exhausting Eveβs soul. Customers would prefer a male mechanic to fix their bike which made Eve doubt her ability; colleagues would give out sexist/ homophobic comments to women & LGBTQ+ customers which makes Eve very sad. Therefore, she decided to quit her job and start Broad Bikez, providing bike services for her community.
Eve is also a jewellerππ, she works with repurposing found objects and turn trash into gems thru her handπ€²πΌβπ½, go check out her jewellery @evelam.xyz

Poppy
Co-founder
Poppy had been looking for initatives to get involved in, which combined outdoors education and building inclusive spaces. So, it was lucky she met Eve and could help grow the Broad Bikez idea into reality!
Poppy's a lover of all things outdoors and is usually bikepacking, hiking, and camping in her spare time.
She is a Cytech qualified mechanic and has worked with NGOs, social enterprises and activists in different capacities, including two years managing a national cycle training and communities programme. -

Ru
Community Engagement Manager
Ru is the Chair of Queers on Wheels. They love all things cycling-especially exploring new places at a relaxed pace with a "smiles over miles" attitude. Ru is passionate about making cycling a more diverse and accessible space. They joined Broad Bikez to learn more about their bike and now help out in the workshop, organise rides, and help grow the Broad Bikez community. Ru trained as a biochemistry and work in the charity sector as well as ran their own company for 4 years before wanting to take a different route into cycling.
We're looking for volunteers to help with:
π² Assisting during workshops and pop-ups
π©πΌβπ€ Running arts and crafts activities
π§ Providing bike servicing
π©π»βπ» Helping with admin, promotion or fundraising
If you want to join our community and help out, contact us.
We especially encourage volunteers with bike mechanic experience, but can offer training and try to provide development opportunities for those working with us.
